Gosport Marine Festival fast approaching

On the final approach to Gosport Marine Festival all the signs were pointing in the right direction. The weather forecast – not good only a few days before – was improving, our dozens of volunteers ready for briefing and all the boats and skippers prepared for a day of hard work and good sailing. Hundreds of bookings came in for sailing, rowing and rib rides. For those too late to book a place for a sail, the Gosport Ferry offered free Harbour tours. The Food Festival came together with almost twenty outlets including gin and marshmallows (not together). The Timespace entertainment programme extended from Alex Thomson’s opening at 10.00 to the Mayor’s closing speech at the end of the day.
