Maritime Traineeship at Fareham College
Are you thinking about a career at sea? If you’re interested in working in the maritime industry and you’re aged between 16 and 18, why not consider a traineeship with Fareham College. You’ll gain an accredited qualification and get on-the-job work experience.
With a current maritime skills shortage in the local area, there is plenty of opportunity to embark upon an exciting career in the seafaring industry.
The Sea School Traineeship Programme provides excellent preparation for a career at sea. This ten-week course provides the basic training required to work at sea, as well as invaluable experience of life on-board a merchant vessel, from the galley to the mess room.
The course is aimed at individuals who may currently be unemployed but are looking to enter the maritime industry. It is also ideal for members of the Sea Cadets or other individuals who might have an interest in working at sea or previous knowledge of the sector, but have not yet had the opportunity to undertake the training required to enter a seafaring profession.
The course induction is on the 8th April and the course proper starts on the 12th April. The course is fully funded for eligible students, for further details and to apply go to http://www.fareham.ac.uk/sea-school-traineeship-programme/
